ROAD RAGE INCIDENT IN TEXAS – A WOMAN DECLARED DEATH DUE TO A GUNSHOT IN THE HEAD
This week, a woman was reportedly shot dead in the head during an alleged road rage incident due to her husband allegedly flipping off the driver.
Apparently, on July 10 at around 9:18 p.m., Hurst Police and Fire units rushed to the 1400 block of West Hurst Boulevard and discovered Paola Nunez Linares, 37, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head due to an alleged road rage incident.
Nunez Linares was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital by the fire department’s medical personnel, where she was later declared dead.
The victim’s husband, according to police, was present at the scene and informed officers that they had been “involved in a road rage incident with another vehicle.”
The couple was traveling in a 2017 Kia minivan to Kelly-Moore Paints when Jones passed a car and another vehicle revved up behind him, according to the wife’s husband, Zane Jones, who spoke to KDFW-TV.
Jones said, “I completed the pass. He began to speed by me as soon as I entered the right lane, but as he reached me, he leveled off and moved over, pushing but not touching me because I had already moved over.”
The victim’s spouse apparently vented his anger at the other motorist after that and it started the road rage incident.
“When I did that, I glanced over at him thinking he was flipping me off as well, but it turned out he was holding the gun,” Jones is quoted as saying by KDFW.
The victim was shot in the back of the head by the perpetrator, who is said to have fired through their back left window as a result of the road rage incident.
At least three shots were reportedly fired at the victim’s car by the suspect before Jones was able to veer off the road and dial 911 to report the road rage incident.
The suspect car involved in the road rage incident, was described by police as a “small, older model car in a dark color.”
Anyone with knowledge on the shooting is being urged to contact the police and provide information regarding the road rage incident.
