Since the last of the three Economic Impact Payments were sent to eligible Americans by the IRS, the idea of a fourth wave of government stimulus payments has been raised. While this is going on, several states have stepped in to help their citizens who continue to struggle due to persistently high inflation by using budget surpluses. For instance, married taxpayers filing jointly in Montana may be eligible for an income tax rebate of up to $2,500.
While some states saved up a budget for stimulus payments, which are meant for farm workers, frontline employees, and essential personnel, some states have set aside stimulus funding for specific target populations like teachers and energy savers. According to Ramsey Solutions, more cities are this year delivering stimulus payments to low-income households. These cities include Chicago, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, and Seattle.

Stimulus Payments In New Mexico And Washington, As Reported By Yahoo Finance
Beginning in mid-June, the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department began sending rebate checks for up to $1,000 to married couples filing joint returns, heads of household, and surviving spouses. $500 checks will also be sent to solo filers and married people filing separate returns. Residents who qualify for the stimulus payments who also filed a 2021 income tax return and those who were not claimed as dependents on another tax return will automatically be paid. New Mexicans who have submitted or will file their 2021 state income tax return before May 31, 2024, are eligible for this reimbursement.
State residents will also receive stimulus payments from the Washington Working Families Tax Credit from $50 to $1,200. Individuals and families that fulfill specific eligibility standards will receive these stimulus payments (based on their income level and the number of eligible children in their home). This reward is available to anyone who files their taxes using an ITIN, including undocumented employees. If you qualify, you have three years to collect your credit.
