As reported by the Hoover Police Department, the 25-year-old Alabama woman named Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell is now home shortly after her disappearance.

The Alabama woman who authorities claim disappeared after dialing 911 to report a toddler strolling along the side of a highway earlier this week has reportedly “returned home”. The Hoover Police reported in a Saturday statement that 25-year-old Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell has been found, as they got a call around 10:45 p.m. last Saturday saying that the Alabama woman was finally home.
“Police responded to the scene to investigate the latest development in the case,” as stated by a press statement, adding that medics from the Hoover Fire Department transferred the Alabama woman to a local hospital.
In an email addressed to PEOPLE, Hoover Police Captain Keith Czeskleba claimed that any relevant information was not “available for release at this time,” and that the investigation into the disappearance of the Alabama woman is currently underway.

The latest update on Russell’s disappearance comes only days after she contacted the police last Thursday night and reported spotting a toddler walking alone on the side of I-459 South around mile marker 11, according to a press release from the police. Police claimed at the time that she stopped to check on the toddler and contacted a family member before officials arrived, but the member lost contact with the Alabama woman.
A recent update stated that a “single witness” said that they had “possibly” seen a male of light complexion standing outside the Alabama woman’s car. Her car was eventually found by the authorities prior to the witness’ report but found no sign of her or the toddler she was reporting.
At the time, authorities disclosed a $20,000 prize from a donor who preferred to remain anonymous. A $5,000 reward was given by Crime Stoppers to anyone who could provide any relevant information regarding the disappearance of the Alabama woman.
