The Missouri Supreme Court has turned aside an appeal by a man scheduled to be executed in August for killing a 6-year-old girl.

According to the Missouri Supreme Court, A 45-Year-Old man named Johnny Johnson was arrested and charged with first-degree murder for killing Casey Williamson, a 6-Year-Old in suburban St. Louis.
The court announced his execution and it will be on August 1 the execution was granted by the Republican Gov. Mike Parson. According to the Missouri Supreme Court report, the suspect’s lawyer appealed in the Missouri Supreme Court that he should not be executed because he is suffering from schizophrenia and maybe this is the reason that he didn’t know he committed a crime and maybe do not execution understand that he will be facing execution.
According to his lawyer, Johnson has delusions about a devil who is trying to come inside him and show that the world is going to end.

The Missouri Supreme Court declines its appeal. The investigation of the Missouri Supreme Court includes some psychiatric evaluation according to the Missouri Attorney General’s Office and it shows that the suspect can handle his mental illness through proper medication. They said that maybe this is one of their reasons for the appeal. According to the report in the Missouri Supreme Court, the suspect was staying in his friend’s house while the 6-year-old child named Casey went missing and many people even the police has searched for her. She was found and was sexually abused miles into the suspect’s house. The suspect confessed that he did the crime. Now, Johnson is now facing the consequences of his action. The lawyer appealed for cancelling the execution but the Missouri Supreme Court declines it and the execution will continue.
