Patrick Benjamin Ventura, a 28-year-old Georgia police officer, was arrested and charged with a pair of counts of assaulting a child and one count of oath breach. He additionally faced charges of sexual battery involving a minor under the age of 16.

In late July, Ventura’s enforcement commander apparently uncovered the accusations when assessing anomalies in Ventura’s patrol activity. Ventura is presently incarcerated without bail at the Gwinnett County Jail.

Ventura’s actions are not representative of the dedicated members of the Gwinnett County Police Department; they hold each of their officers accountable for their conduct.
