Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to ESPN.
Cowboys defensive end, Sam Williams was arrested on Sunday by Frisco Police.
The Cowboys told Fox News Digital they have no comment at this point, but added the organization is aware of Sam Williams’ situation. The organization are said to be dealing with Sam Williams directly while the legal process continues.
Initially, it was reported that Sam Williams was charged with possession of marijuana, but the actual charge is related to alleged possession of THC.
Under the league’s personal conduct policy, Sam Williams is subject to either fine or suspension for the incident.

This is not the first time Sam Williams has faced off-the-field issues before.
Sam Williams missed a game as a precautionary measure after he was involved in a car accident that sent him to the hospital briefly, USA Today reports.
According to the Star-Telegram, Plano Police in Texas issued Sam Williams a citation for misdemeanor reckless driving after Sam Williams was allegedly driving at an excessive speed of 98mph in a zone where the legal limit is 55mph, USA Today added.
Sam Williams was suspended from Ole Miss in July 2020 due to a battery charge. However, Sam Williams was reinstated two months later when the charge against him was dropped.
