The European Space Agency was able to find their missing Philae comet lander on September 2, 2016.
7 years have passed since the lost and found comet lander was discovered.
The European Space Agency successfully located the lost and found lander with the help of another spacecraft called Rosetta. The lost and found lander Philae, which is as big as a washing machine, was dropped off by Rosetta at Comet 67P back in November 2014.
The lost and found lander had trouble when its harpoons did not deploy, causing it to bounce around the comet. Eventually, the lost and found lander ended up in a shadowy area where its solar panels could not gather sufficient light.
After landing, the lost and found lander managed to send some data to Rosetta before its batteries depleted.

The lost and found lander it sporadically established contact with Rosetta for several months following the crash.
Rosetta spacecraft searched for the lost and found lander by orbiting Comet 67P and capturing images.
However, it took nearly two years for Rosetta to finally locate the lost and found the lost and found comet lander, Philae.
The remains of the lost and found lander can be found on the surface of the 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, that is located around 370 million miles away from Earth, according to CNET.
