Comedian and social influencer Russell Brand has been accused of sexual assault allegations and abuse by four women who knew him over a seven-year period.
Three women are accusing him of abuse while one accuses him of sexual assault allegations.
Brand denies the abuse and sexual assault allegations, stating that all his relationships have been consensual.
The women was said to have only felt comfortable sharing their stories relating to the abuse and sexual assault allegations after being approached by reporters, possibly influenced by Brand’s online wellness influencer status.
Brand believes the abuse and sexual assault allegations are part of a coordinated attack to discredit him due to his controversial views on topics like COVID-19 vaccines.
Brand rose to fame as a stand-up comic and later had a career in Hollywood.
According to Variety, one of the women who came forward in relation to the abuse and sexual assault allegations against Brand was only 16 at the time it happened. The accusations range from physical assault to non-consensual acts.
Aside from the emotional abuse and sexual assault allegations, Brand has faced controversy in the past, including being fired from his MTV hosting gig and being suspended from his BBC Radio 2 show.
Brand’s representatives have not yet responded to the emotional abuse and sexual assault allegations, Variety added.
