USDA Announces The Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program Second Payments: Know More!| Farmers Weekly

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is providing a second round of payments for dairy producers through the Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program (ODMAP).

Applications for the Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program were accepted from May 24 to August 11.

Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program aims to support organic dairy producers who are facing challenges such as market volatility, higher costs, and unstable feed supply.

The first round of Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program payments totaling $15 million have already been distributed, and an additional $5 million will be provided in the second round.

Eligible producers for the Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program can receive financial assistance based on their projected marketing costs, with the second payment covering the remaining 25% of requested assistance.

The Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program is meant to help small organic dairies stay sustainable until market conditions improve.

Participating producers do not need to take any additional action to receive the second Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program payment, says USDA.

The Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program helps dairy producers, along with the Dairy Margin Coverage and Supplemental DMC programs.

Producers can learn more about other programs like the Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program and access other services by contacting their local USDA Service Center or signing up for a farmers.gov account.
