U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney Sends Someone To Prison
Kevin Cassaday, a Lansing man, has been sentenced to three years and one month in prison for threatening U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney. Cassaday had filed multiple lawsuits not just against U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney but to other various government officials and entities, including former President Donald Trump and Facebook.
After U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney dismissed one of his cases, Cassaday threatened him in a phone call. Cassaday’s defense attorney argued that his client who threatened U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney suffered from mental illness and requested probation instead of prison time.
According to a published article by MLive.com, the prosecutor emphasized that while Cassaday’s grievances were imaginary, his threats to U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney were real and caused distress. Cassaday not only have U.S. District Judge Paul Maloneyas a victim of his threats but had also made threats against the clerk of Court of Claims and Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wrigglesworth.
Guilty Of Sending Threats To U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney And Other Public Officials
In a published article by WOODTV.com, Cassaday was found guilty by a jury in July for sending threats to public officials such as U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney. He will serve 37 months in prison and two years on supervised release.
