A  hit-and-run accident that recently happened to an Arab Muslim student caused not just physical injuries but emotional disturbance as well.

Hit-and-run Accident

Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run accident at Stanford University that injured an Arab Muslim student and are considering the hit-and-run accident a potential hate crime.

The victim of the hit-and-run accident, Abdulwahab Omira, reported that the driver of a black Toyota 4Runner made eye contact with him, accelerated, and struck him before driving away while shouting offensive language. The suspect of the hit-and-run accident is described as a white male in his mid-20s with short, dirty-blonde hair, a beard, and round-framed eyeglasses.

Although Omira’s injuries after the hit-and-run accident were not life-threatening, he expressed that the hurtful words spoken by the driver continued to disturb him emotionally. The hit-and-run accident is part of a series of possible hate crimes being investigated at Stanford University since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

According to a published article by Scripps News, the California Highway Patrol is actively looking into the hit-and-run accident case and encourages any witnesses of the hit-and-run accident to come forward with information.
