The 4-year-old Taliyah Frazier riding in the backseat was fatally shot when their vehicle was deliberately attacked in what detectives say was a “non-random, targeted” shooting in Nashville, Tennessee. She was announced to have died from her injuries, the next day.
Victims of the Shooting Incident
The Metro Nashville Police Department stated that the shooting happened just before 8:00 p.m. near the intersection of Dickerson Pike and Douglas Avenue on Tuesday, May 30.
Taliyah was riding in the backseat of a Chevrolet Malibu when the car stopped at a red light. The shooting happened when two men got out of another car that also stopped at the red light and fired 20 rounds at and into the vehicle. Taliyah was critically shot in the head. One of her two-year-old twin brothers suffered a non-critical graze wound to his head while the other twin was uninjured, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

Police and paramedics arrived at the dollar store parking lot to render aid. The unidentified 22-year-old driver was wounded in the arm. The 4-year-old Taliyah, however, died the next day, Wednesday afternoon.
The police stated that the shooting appears to have been targeted, having the investigators work to interview the 22-year-old driver to determine what may have led to the shooting, according to WKRN.
