A deadline extension has just been approved for Pennsylvania’s tax/rent rebate program. The new deadline would be by the end of the year, December 31. The program is for qualified Pennsylvania ages 65 and up. The program is also for disabled people ages 18 and up, widows, and widowers over the age of 50 and older.
Those who are qualified are asked to file their applications for the rebate by visiting the application site. The rebates are expected to arrive starting the 1st of July. Claimants can check the status of their rebates easily through the Where’s My Rebate tool. All they would need would be their Social Security number, birth date, and their claim year.

Benefits of Pennsylvanians Brought By The Rebate Program
At present, the maximum standard rebate is $650. Supplemental rebates for certain eligible homeowners could up the amount to $975. The supplemental rebates for those eligible homeowners are calculated automatically by the Department of Revenue.
Applicants should reapply every year for the rebates since rebates are implemented based on annual income and rent or property taxes paid every year. Certain people can reapply for the rebate claims on the claimants’ behalf who fulfill the eligibility requirements.
