1 Dead And 22 People Wounded In A Juneteenth Celebration Mass Shooting In Illinois
Early Sunday morning, at around 12:30 a.m. in Willowbrook a suburban village about 20 miles west of Chicago a mass shooting happened during a Juneteenth celebration in Illinois. One person was fatally injured and at least 22 people were wounded in gunfire. The victims were rushed immediately to the nearest hospital. According to the report, there was a large crowd of young people gathered for a party around the park to celebrate Juneteenth. There were some police also nearby patrolling but during the time of the gunshot, they were responding to another report alleging a fight that happened nearby. DuPage County Sheriff’s Office said that the police patrol returned to the gathering after they heard some gunshots. He added that there are an unknown number of suspects who fired multiple gunshots into the crowd. The witnesses said that they heard about 20 to 30 gunshots fired during the event which there are over 200 young people attended.
