NYC Professor Threatened NY Post Reporter
45-year-old Shellyne Rodriguez, a New York City professor who apparently threatened a New York Post reporter with a machete, has been given a disposition date by the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, according to Fox News.
The events leading up to Rodriguez’s arrest unfolded on Tuesday when the reporter from the Post, seeking to inquire about a viral video of her cursing pro-life students at Hunter College, knocked on her apartment door. Responding aggressively, she kicked the reporter’s shins before retreating into her building.

On Thursday, May 25, Rodriguez turned herself in to the police following allegations of threatening the NY Post reporter with a machete. She is currently facing charges of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing, and menacing, which is considered a violation.
After turning herself in for the incident captured on camera, a composed Rodriguez, was escorted out of the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx with her head held high, wearing handcuffs. This occurred shortly after 11 a.m. on the day of her surrender, according to New York Post.
As a consequence of her actions, Hunter College terminated Rodriguez’s employment, while the School of Visual Arts, where she also held a professorship, was reviewing her status as of Wednesday.Â
