The IRS says a new scam has cropped up this summer with a physical mailing. The new scam letter goes so far as to request that you send detailed pictures of your driver’s license.

The Internal Revenue Service is now giving a warning to the taxpayers about a new scam today involving tax refund claims, they said it is a refund scam.
The refund scam works when the scammers are sending mail to taxpayers that looks like a cardboard envelope in the delivery service. The letter has this masthead saying “in relation to your unclaimed tax refund”. This letter is a refund scam that bogus contact information and phone number that are not related to the IRS. The body of the letter inside asks for more private information from the taxpayers, including their cell phone numbers, bank pieces of information and Social Security number.

This refund scam will invade taxpayers’ private information by the fraudsters, they say that if they will give their information an agent will help them process to file their refund. This is the way for some thieves to scam refunds from the taxpayers. Always remember that these refund scams come from the mai, if you receive a mail about a refund then you must disregard it.
