Former University of New Mexico Athletic Director Paul Krebs is Found Not Guilty of Reportedly Using $13,625 in University Funds for an Expensive Golf Trip

Paul Krebs, the former director of athletics at the University of Mexico, was granted the final verdict; he was deemed not guilty of the charges of embezzlement for allegedly redistributing money from the university and the Lobo Club to pay for the golf trip.

Former University of New Mexico athletic director Paul Krebs is not guilty

On July 17, the jury made its final judgment. Krebs was found not guilty by the jury of misusing UNM funds. Paul Kennedy, Krebs’s lawyer, told The Associated Press over the phone that justice had been served, Krebs is a good man, and the decision to clear him was the right one. They are relieved that the procedure is now over after a protracted and drawn-out process.

The Santa Fe New Mexican claimed that, in accordance with a story in Fox News, he took use of the opportunity on Thursday before the case moved to the jury to respond to all of the inquiries from the prosecutors and to media stories regarding the foreign trip.

The Lobo Club utilized finances to pay a deposit to a travel agency, and Krebs has been accused of spending $13,625 in university bucks to reimburse the club for a golf tour package. After a protracted trial, Krebs was finally found not guilty.
