A shooting in Margaret Jenkins Park, South Houston early on Saturday morning left a 21-year-old pregnant woman killed and four others injured.
Shooting Incident in Houston, Texas
At 1:14 A.M., information from the Houston Police Department’s ShotSpotter equipment revealed that “a total of 36 shots fired” had been reported in Margaret Jenkins Park. Ernest Garcia, the assistant chief, stated in a news conference on Saturday morning. When the police arrived four minutes later, they saw groups of people arguing in the park which prompted some to take out firearms and shoot.
Based on the information provided, authorities have reported a shooting incident in which five individuals were shot. Tragically, a pregnant woman killed at the scene. Three of the gunshot victims, including the two individuals believed to be the shooters, were taken to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, their current condition is stable.
Garcia stated that one person sustained a graze wound but did not seek medical attention at the hospital. The two suspects are currently in custody at the local hospital and will be subjected to further questioning by homicide investigators from the department as part of an additional investigation. Authorities are continuing to search for any other potential suspects involved in the incident.

Pregnant Woman Killed, Two Suspects Currently in Police Custody
Autumn Villian was identified by her relatives as the 21-year-old pregnant woman killed in the shooting. The pregnant woman was at a birthday celebration with her relatives and close friends when the shooting broke out, according to ABCNews. Ebony Villian, her mother, reported to the media outlet that she was attempting to leave when she was fatally killed.
Ebony Villian explained to ABC Houston Station KTRK, “As we were getting ready to leave, they started a little commotion, One man pulled a gun. According to the mother’s statement, when one person took out his gun, the girlfriend of the other guy got out of her truck with a gun too. They had a heated argument about their actions, and then they started shooting at each other. The mother mentioned that the woman involved also knew the suspects beforehand.
