A man and his 14-year-old son were detained by police after the boy allegedly shot and killed a 13-year-old girl in a shooting in New Mexico, according to authorities.
According to published news from CBS News, the youngsters were in the 14-year-old boy’s Questa house on Friday afternoon with two other young people listening to music when the shooting in New Mexico occurred.
Their identities have not been made public. The teenage female was allegedly shot by the 14-year-old kid at some time, who then dragged her body outside in an incident of shooting in New Mexico.
William Brown, the teen’s 39-year-old father, went back home a short while later, according to the police. After the police arrived, he and the teenager resisted leaving the residence for almost 30 minutes.
On an open count of first-degree murder, police detained the teen who was the suspect in the shooting in New Mexico. Additionally, they accused him of assaulting a police officer twice and tampering with evidence twice.
The reason the adolescent was accused of assaulting police was not disclosed by officials.
According to authorities, Brown, who is accused of owning the guns, was charged with allowing juvenile access to a gun negligently, which resulted in the shooting in New Mexico and the death of a young girl.
According to published news from NBC News, his son was lodged in the San Juan Juvenile Detention Center while he was lodged at the Taos County Detention Center.

Requests for information regarding the other two young people who were inside the house when it was shot have gone unanswered by the authorities.
A vigil was planned for Sunday night in response to the cruelty of the shooting in New Mexico. In a social media post, Questa Mayor John Anthony Ortega expressed his sadness over the “tragedy.”
According to the Gifford Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, there are about 4.6 million children in the United States who reside in households with at least one loaded, unlocked handgun.
