Joel Christian Woo Martens has been indicted with two counts of second-degree rape, twelve counts of sexual interaction with an individual under the age of 18 by a person in authority, two charges of child pornographic ownership, and a single charge of sexual assault of an underage person.

Hartford Chiropractor Faces Rape Charges
The Hartford Chiropractor, Martens, 31, has been suspected of engaging in sexual and disclosing pornographic images with a now-17-year-old kid who was previously a student-athlete at West Central School District on multiple occasions.
According to court documents, the person who was assaulted reported to detectives that sexual encounters had lasted for roughly ten months and that it could have occurred as many as six times a week all throughout the summer of 2022. Reportedly to the victimized individual, 75% of the appointments at the medical facility were solely for sexual.

Suspect imprisoned at the Minnehaha County Jail on a $250,025 bail.
In a published report by Argus Leader, the following most recent development regarding the matter comes after fourth-degree rape charges were dismissed in the incident adhering to his detention in the middle of June, following which he initially faced charges with that in addition to a total of seven counts of sexual contact with a juvenile under the age of 18 by an individual in power.
According to court filings, the victim claimed Martens videotaped them having intercourse and forwarded the footage to her, which she subsequently saved on Snapchat. Martens is currently imprisoned at the Minnehaha County Jail on a $250,025 bail. The preliminary trial has been rescheduled for 10:30 a.m. Based on administrative information, the eleventh of the month of September.
