The teacher, who worked at the same middle school as the student, was detained for allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a minor, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

In a recently published article from Fox News, detectives were able to study thousands of messages between the teacher and the student, which were transmitted virtually continuously for several months, after obtaining adult permission to check the 14-year-old victim’s computer. The sheriff’s office stated that even though the kid did not respond to many of the messages, the teacher, 33-year-old George Beall, kept on allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a minor.

The message started when the student attended Powell Middle School, where Beall was a teacher, the detectives discovered after speaking with the victim. The student is reported to have told police the chats were “weird,” particularly given the age gap between the two but also because Beall was consistent in sending inappropriate text messages to a minor.

The victim reportedly acknowledged to police that he felt horrible for ending the chats because Beall was dying of cancer and the student was his “only friend.” According to the sheriff’s office, the interactions took place over text messages, PlayStation, and Snapchat where Beall kept sending inappropriate text messages to a minor. Detectives spoke with the instructor at the county technical school where Beall had just started a new job.

The youngster was scheduled to attend the technical school in the forthcoming academic year, according to authorities when the event of sending inappropriate text messages to a minor happened.

In published news from ABC Action News, Beall admitted to communicating with the student by text, Snapchat, and PlayStation when police spoke with him. He also allegedly added that they talked about “anything and everything.” When the victim did not respond or had no interest in playing video games during the sending inappropriate text messages to a minor incident, Beall, according to the detectives, appeared to become agitated.

The sheriff’s office also stated that the district promptly put Beall on administrative leave due to an incident of sending inappropriate text messages to a minor. He was detained on Wednesday and accused of using a two-way communication device illegally as well as sending dangerous content to a juvenile. Beall was released on a $5,000 bond.

Detectives are still looking even though there is no sign of any new victims.
