A lucky lottery winner in Kentucky unexpectedly bought a ticket and ended up winning a grand prize of $500,000.

The lottery winner, Daniel Refitt handed out $100 to the employees at the store where he purchased the winning ticket.

The lottery winner had initially intended to purchase a fast play ticket from the vending machine at the nearby supermarket.

According to the Kentucky Lottery, the lottery winner initially wanted to buy a Fast Play ticket but changed his mind and bought a Precious Metals Titanium Scratch-off ticket instead.

According to the lottery, the chances of that the lottery winner had for winning any prize in the game is 1 in 2.96.

The wife of the said lottery winner called him the ‘luckiest man in the world.’

The lottery winner, Refitt, unlike most lottery winners who typically receive prizes of $20 to $100, was astonished when he successfully scratched off all the correct numbers on a ticket and won an astonishing $500,000.

The lottery winner was in a joyful mood and luckily there were a few individuals nearby who were able to assist him. The lottery winner generously gave each of these people $100 as a way to spread Christmas cheer.

Although the lottery winner originally won $500,000, he received a check for $357,500 after taxes. The lottery winner says he intends to use some of the winnings to clear off his debts.
