US Seizes Barrel of Iranian Oil
According to newly unsealed court documents and a statement released by the Department of Justice on Friday 1 million barrels of Iranian crude oil bound for China were seized by the US government.
According to the DOJ, this is the first time a criminal resolution that a company was involved in violating sanctions in smuggling Iranian crude oil and its transportation. As a result of the US seized barrel of Iranian Oil
In a report by CNN, the US seized barrel of Iranian Oil from an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a US-designated foreign terrorist organization, which allegedly shipped more than 980, 000 barrels of Oil according to a press release.
Another report by the court documents that there are many organizations affiliated with Iran’s IRGC and IRGC-Qods Force planned to hide the origin of the oil and sell it illegally to China. Which makes the US Seizes barrel of Iranian Oil.
The court filings claimed that the sales of this oil would support the IRGC’s full range of destruction activities such as the proliferation of nuclear weapons and their delivery systems and support for human abuses in domestic and internationally and also terrorism. That triggered the US seized barrel of Iranian Oil.
In another report on Reddit, as the US seized barrel of Iranian Oil, Empire Navigation, the corporation in charge of the ship transporting the oil, entered a guilty plea to conspiring to break the International Emergency Economic Powers Act in April. The IRCG received a nearly $2.5 million fine and a three-year corporate probationary period. According to the DOJ, the company’s vessel, Suez Rajan Limited, conveyed the contraband to the US and racked up substantial costs related to the vessel’s journey there.
