Long-range weapons may be included in the upcoming security package for Zelensky, according to a report.
ATACM missile as a potential help package
According to a Saturday report by ABC News, the United States is prepared to give Ukraine ATACM missile.
An official announced, “They are coming,” adding that any preparations for providing Ukraine with security help could change. According to a second person who spoke to ABC, Army Tactical Missile Systems, or ATACM missile, are “on the table” for a potential help package. The 190-mile or 300-kilometer range ATACM missile might aid Ukrainian forces in attacking Crimean objectives, which are viewed by senior Ukrainian authorities and many Western observers as the key battlefield in the Ukraine War.
There have been no confirmed confirmations of the ATACM missile transfer proposal from any officials willing to comment on the record. According to ABC News, White House spokesman John Kirby stated that there is currently no decision regarding ATACM missile. We continue to talk about the viability of ATACM missile, he continued. “As the president has stated, they’re not off the table.

The delivery of longer-range weapons to Kyiv, according to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, is a “red line” that would make the U.S. “a party to the conflict.” Moscow’s response to such deliveries, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, will be to capture more of Ukraine’s territory. “The more you provide arsenals, the more closely we will shift farther from our territory the line beyond which [Ukraine may attack Russia],” he said.
There have been hints that the U.S. is getting closer to approving the supply of ATACM missile, maybe as a result of unsatisfactory military events. Western planners and politicians are already talking about potential Ukrainian offensives in 2024 and beyond as the main thrust of Ukraine’s much-expected summer counteroffensive in the southern Zaporizhzhia area continues to yield minor advances at a “slower than expected” pace.
Though neither platform will be able to reach Ukraine in time for the summer counteroffensive, some military analysts think that F-16s and ATACM missile can be crucial in Ukraine’s future attempts to retake the land that Russia currently occupies in the south and southeast of the country.
