Bronx Day Care Center Owner’s Husband is Arrested in Mexico

The husband of the owner of Bronx day care center has been arrested in Mexico. Bronx Day Care Center was the center where a 1-year-old child died after being exposed to fentanyl.

Bronx Day Care Center was where a 1-year-old Nicholas Dominici had been sick and later died. According to a criminal complaint, the man was seen on a security video at Bronx day care center on September 15, where the incident took place.

In a report by NBC News,  aside from Nicholas, three other children were hospitalized. Three people from the Bronx day care center has also been charged. Grei Mendez, 36, the owner of the Bronx Day Care Center, Carlisto Acevedo Brito, 41, and Renny Antonio Parra Paredes, 38. It is according to the federal officials.

In a report, the Husband of the owner of Bronx Day Care Center was taken into Custody by Mexican state police and agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Marshals Service. She was taken by a bus heading to Sinaloa. His name was not released.

A kilogram of fentanyl was kept at the daycare facility on children’s sleeping mats by Paredes, Mendez, and Brito, according to the U.S. The Southern District of New York’s attorney’s office reported.

In a report published by CNN.com, when the investigators investigated the Bronx Day Care center, they found “traps” or hidden compartments on the floor of Bronx Day Care Center where the children slept and they found suspected drugs and packaging material there. It was believed that the four children has been suffered poisoning from exposure to fentanyl at the Bronx Day Care Center. Federal prosecutors said.

When used lawfully, the potent synthetic opioid fentanyl is used to alleviate severe pain. Officials claim that the drug is a major contributor to the opioid crisis and the surge in overdose deaths in the United States since it is abused and/or combined with other narcotics like heroin.
