According to source, Gabriel Clark, a 20-year-old man has been convicted of first degree murder charges in connection to the death of Jose Delgado-Diaz, who was linked to a homeless camp fire and a reported shooting that occurred in October 2022. The incident unfolded when fire officials, including the Stratmoor Fire Department and other agencies responded to a homeless camp located near B Street in unincorporated El Paso County at approximately 2 a.m. on October 10, 2022. Multiple camp residents identified a man believed to be Delgado-Diaz as the one responsible for the fire.
Subsequently, in the morning, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a man who appeared to have been shot not far from the location of the fire. Deputies found the victim with a stab wound to the chest, and he tragically died at the scene. The victim, Jose Delgado-Diaz, was identified.
Clark was one of two individuals arrested on first degree murder charges in connection to his death, with the other defendant being found not guilty of the murder earlier in the year. On Thursday Gabriel Clark was found guilty on first degree murder charges and subsequently sentenced to life in prison for his involvement in the murder of Jose Delgado-Diaz.
