Andreen McDonald, a millionaire business owner, and mother, went missing after not showing up for work. Andreen McDonald’s husband, Andre McDonald, claimed they had a heated argument the night before about a separate business she had opened without his knowledge and alleged infidelity.
When the police arrived at their home, they found hair and blood in the bathroom, a burn pile in the backyard, and Andreen McDonald’s personal belongings, except for her phone. Andre McDonald refused to cooperate with the investigation regarding Andreen McDonald’s case and requested an attorney.
According to a published article by CBS News, surveillance video showed Andreen McDonald’s husband buying items including a shovel, ax, and a 9mm handgun. Investigators suspected Andreen McDonald’s husband was purchasing the gun to harm himself.
Andre McDonald’s Statements
In a published article by The U.S. Sun, during his trial, Andre testified that an argument ensued after a tax appointment where he discovered that Andreen had started a new company without informing him.
He claimed that the argument turned physical, with Andreen throwing punches at him. Andre said he tripped her, kicked her twice, and heard his daughter’s footsteps before leaving the room.
When he returned, Andreen was dead. Andre’s defense argued self-defense, pointing to Andreen’s powerlifting abilities.
