Local Outreach Events on Medicaid and Other Programs in Wilmington, N.C.

The Health and Human Services Department of New Hanover County is helping people get into important programs like Medicaid and SNAP. The goal of the program is to help people who need it most and have questions about Medicaid or need help with the application process. The outreach events, which are planned to happen all through December, are only meant to help first-time candidates. It is important to note that the program is not for people who are already getting benefits or who may need to be re-certified.

The planned outreach events appear to involve residents of Wilmington in a variety of ways. The first event will take place on Tuesday, December 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the NHC HHS facility, which is located at 1650 Greenfield St. in Wilmington. The second event will be held on Wednesday, December 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nir Family YMCA, 2710 Market Street, Wilmington. The third and final event will be held on Thursday, December 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Hanover County Main Library, 201 Chestnut St., Wilmington.

The New Hanover County Health and Human Services are doing a great job with this project to make sure that people who need help getting to important programs are given clear and easy-to-reach options. The goal is to get rid of any obstacles that might keep people from using the support and help that these programs offer by getting involved with the community.

They have shown a proactive and community-focused approach that has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of people who need to access these important services.
