Teen Accused of Bicyclist’s Murder Faces New Attempted Murder Charge Linked to Gang Activity

Besides a fatal hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist, 18-year-old Jesus Ayala faces an attempted murder charge in a gang-related case. Ayala and the “Night Crawlers criminal gang” appeared in court for a June stabbing initial hearing. Ayala and another juvenile, Jzamir Keys, face murder and attempted murder in the death of retired police chief Andreas Probst.

Gang Affiliation and Robbery Connection

Attempt Murder Jesus Ayala, accused of a fatal hit-and-run that killed a 66-year-old bicyclist, now faces an attempted murder charge in a stabbing case. Ayala is a member of the “Night Crawlers criminal gang,” compounding his legal issues with the Metropolitan Police Department.

According to the arrest report, Ayala, bearer of a deadly weapon, is suspected of attempted murder in connection with a stabbing incident in June. Ayala and five others attacked the victim, stabbing him in the face and back. The witness called the incident “extremely violent,” implying it may have been fatal.

Investigation reveals Ayala’s gang involvement with the “Night Crawlers criminal gang.” Another adolescent related to a stolen vehicle identified Ayala as a church robbery suspect. Ayala denies gang membership, but evidence suggests a more extensive criminal network.

Past Crimes and Hit-and-Run Connection

Ayala and Keys face accusations of murder, attempted murder, and other acts related to Probst’s death since August. Keys allegedly purposefully rammed Probst’s bicycle back after filming the frightening hit-and-run. The pair faces charges of failing to stop at the scene, violence, residential burglary, grand theft, and possession of a stolen car.

Ayala denies gang membership and stabbing involvement despite being in detention since August. There is no print match for a weapon found at the stabbing site, complicating the investigation. Ayala and Keys’ legal struggles raise doubts about their alleged crimes and their probable punishments.
