According to Kansas City authorities, a Missouri man shot and killed his wife in front of her son because he was dissatisfied and outraged about the direction his life was taking.
According to a published article from Law&Crime, in connection with the shooting death of Jami Duncan, 39, on July 17, Mantonia M. Duncan, 36, is charged with second degree murder, armed criminal action, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Jami’s son was there when she was shot many times in the head and body.
The incident happened right before midnight, at a residence in the North Town Fork Creek area on East 54th Street.
After receiving a 911 call, police and paramedics arrived to find the victim shot many times in the head and torso as she lay in a pool of blood in her kitchen.
In the meantime, according to court documents, the defendant was “drunk and walking” while conversing on his iPhone with his brother.
The Arrest
According to published news from Fox 4 News, Mantonia Duncan, charged with second degree murder, was safely brought into custody by KCPD officers at his brother’s house.
At the time of his arrest, “detectives noticed apparent blood on his left leg above his ankle, on his shorts, shirt, shoes, and his right-hand finger,” according to the probable cause statement on his second degree murder case.
The Killing
Detectives from the KCPD spoke with Jami Duncan’s son the next day.
According to two different versions of the tale, his stepfather either kicked down the door to the kitchen or his mother let the enraged guy in by opening the door which led to the second degree murder case of Duncan.
However, regardless of the scenario, the victim on second degree murder, received the identical chilling order just before she passed away, according to the statement.
According to Jackson County Court records, the defendant with a second degree murder charge is not presently under legal representation.
He’s being held in the Jackson County Detention Facility right now on a $100,000 cash bail in line with his second degree murder case.
