According to Nick Hover, director of operations for the Smugglers’ Notch Disc Golf and Outdoor Center, Smugglers’ Brewster Ridge and Fox Run courses are currently ranked fourth and seventh globally, respectively. As the championship unfolds, 300 top-tier disc golfers from diverse corners of the globe, from neighboring countries to as far as Australia, are primed to showcase their skills and vie for the coveted title of World Champion.
Tournament Director Jeff Spring has orchestrated a spectacular event for 2023 PDGA Disc Golf World Championship with men’s and women’s divisions, comprising 216 male competitors and 84 female athletes. The international flavor of this championship is undeniable, with disc golf enthusiasts descending from 13 different countries, including Japan and the Scandinavian nations, known as a “hotbed” of disc golf.
