According to the source, Hanaan Shahin, a 32-year-old Chicago-area woman, has been released from the hospital after being stabbed multiple times in an alleged anti-Muslim attack that tragically resulted in the death of her 6-year-old son, Wadea Al Fayoume. This horrifying incident occurred on October 14 in Plainfield Township, Illinois, where the family had been living for two years.
According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office they were targeted because of their Muslim faith, and the Will County Sheriff played a crucial role in the case helping investigate and address this tragic event. The alleged perpetrator, Joseph M. Czuba, a 71-year-old man has been charged with murder and hate crimes, and the Department of Justice is investigating the attack as a hate crime.
