A mass shooting occurred near the Denver Nuggets’ Ball Arena resulting in the injuries of 9 people as fans of the NBA team celebrated the team’s win against the Miami Heat.
Denver Shooting During the Celebration Of Denver Nuggets’ Victory
It was early Tuesday morning when the Denver shooting happened near the Denver Nuggets’ Ball Arena as fans of the team celebrated their first NBA championship. Reports indicate that a drug deal was happening during the celebration of fans, which lead to the shooting. According to the police, one out of two men was apprehended by the police regarding the incident. The man arrested also had a gunshot wound. Matt Clark, Commander of Denver Police, declared in a press conference that one woman and nine men were shot during the Denver shooting. Fortunately, Clark reported that their wounds were not fatal.
Ricardo Miguel Vazquez was among the wounded from the shooting. He was arrested by the police over a charge of possession of a weapon and a controlled substance. Clark added that some of the wounded may likely be involved in the incident. Ron Thomas, Chief of Denver Police, stated that investigators strongly believe that six or five people among the wounded are completely innocent.
Clark added that five handguns and small bags containing fentanyl pills were recovered from the area of the Denver shooting and that at least 20 rounds of ammunition were fired within the area.

The Aftermath Of The Denver Shooting
Dr. Eric Campion of the Denver Health Medical Center reported that the five people that were among the wounded are now in fair condition. Campion added that they were able to triage the patients rapidly and that they identified the most wounded first, which were then taken into the operating room immediately.
The celebration happened after the Denver Nuggets won against the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals last Monday Night. This marked the team’s first championship. Doug Schepman, the police spokesperson, said that the shooting took place nearly 4 hours after the game.
