Orlando Teen Arrested
The Orlando Police Department has announced the arrest of a 15-year-old teen believed to be responsible for the fatal shooting of a Desert Storm veteran in February. The teenager has been charged with first-degree murder with a firearm following an extensive investigation.
“The arrest was made possible due to the relentless efforts of the Homicide Detectives, as well as the cooperation from the community and Central Florida Crimeline,” Orlando Police Department said on Friday. The suspect has been identified as Samuel Stevens, aged 15, according to Law and Crime.
Authorities had previously revealed that the victim, Angela Sutton Washington, aged 60, was shot and killed while she was on her way to her car after stopping at a convenience store on February 7. The perpetrator, driving a dark blue or black Mazda 3, opened fire and struck her, leading to her tragic death.

Fernando Washington, the victim’s son, expressed his emotions in an interview stating that he felt anger and confusion in the current societal climate, although he acknowledged that such incidents are unfortunately not surprising, according to Fox 35.
Samuel Stevens now faces a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm. It remains uncertain whether he will be prosecuted as a juvenile or an adult, as Law&Crime has sought clarification from the state’s attorney’s office of the Ninth Judicial Circuit.Â
