Man Shot By Orlando Police

Last Monday, Orlando Police shot a man in downtown Orlando after he resisted the orders of officers who noticed drugs in his car, as stated by the Orlando Police chief.

Eric Smith, chief of Orlando Police, stated in a news conference that the man grabbed a gun as Orlando Police officers were investigating his car. The Orlando Police Chief added that he was aware drugs were found inside the suspect’s car, which compelled the Orlando Police officers to stop him for inspection

Footage Of The Incident

Regarding a gun that the suspect seemed to reach, it was never found, according to the Orlando Police Chief. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead later on.

The Orlando Police Chief stated that he analyzed video footage of a body camera from an Orlando Police officer that was worn around the time of the encounter, which was 2 a.m. As declared by the Orlando Police, the bodycam video will be released to the public within the next month. The Orlando Police officer who was on the scene was placed on paid administrative leave as the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates the shooting incident.
