The 43-year-old Samuel Harris, a former police officer in Miami-Dade, pleaded guilty to stealing $285,000 in Covid-19 relief funds. According to USNews, Samuel Harris is facing 20 years in prison and will be sentenced in September.
Samuel Harris Claimed Hundreds of Thousands of Relief Funds
In June 2020, Samuel Harris falsely documented and received a $125,579 worth of forgivable loan from the Paycheck Protection Program.
ABCNews reported that Samuel Harris also received more than $100,000 from the Economic Injury Disaster Loan.
Samuel Harris admitted his business, “Oregen,” with above $800,000 of gross revenue and 10 employees, to commit fraud and obtain a huge sum of money.

Samuel Harris Pleads Guilty of Committing Wire Fraud
Samuel Harris will be sentenced to 20 years in prison on Sep. 25.
The Eastern Region of Investigation Division announced the guilty plea of Samuel Harris.
IRS-CI and SBA OIG also investigated the case of how Samuel Harris committed such a crime.
