A Noose Found Near The Tour Bus of Lyle Lovett And His Large Band: Is This An Act of Hate Crime? | AT&T Performing Arts Center

The multi-racial band, Lyle Lovett and His Large Band, led by Lyle Lovett are on their summer tour last Sunday in Billings, Montana, when a noose incident happened.

Lyle Lovett and His Large Band member Charles Rose reported to the police of Billings, Montana of the noose he found near the tour bus of Lyle Lovett and His Large Band.

Lyle Lovett and His Large Band member, Rose, said that he found the noose hanged on a light pole located near the Lyle Lovett and His Large Band tour bus. He found it Sunday morning prior to the performance of Lyle Lovett and His Large Band in the city that Sunday night.

Lyle Lovett and His Large Band member Charles Rose, said in a Facebook post that he do not recall seeing the noose found near the Lyle Lovett and His Large Band when they first arrived that Sunday morning. He said that when he went back out of the bus to get something, he saw the noose hanging a few feet from the door of the bus. He said the hanged noose was scary so he took it down.

Is the hanged noose near the bus door of Lyle Lovett and His Large Band, an act of hate crime?

ABC News reported that Billings Mayor Bill Cole addressed the noose incident at a city council meeting. Cole reportedly said that the city council, the police and the city leaders take the issue seriously and that they condemn hateful speech or symbols of any form in the community.

Mayor Bill Cole said in a statement that the Billings Police Department are investigating the incident under the speculation that the noose found near the tour bus of Lyle Lovett and His Large Band is an act of hate crime. 

Investigators have are yet to be successful in finding relevant footage that may help them identify the person/persons who hanged the noose near the bus. Cole said I a statement that the police does not have any witnesses that may point who place the noose or what the intention of the act might be.
