Suspect Wanted for Capital Murder of Elderly Woman Accused of Robbing Subway in Mississippi

Authorities are on a manhunt for Sammy Patrick, wanted for the capital murder of an elderly woman in Scott County, Mississippi. Patrick is also accused of committing an armed robbery at a Subway in Wilkinson County, further escalating the severity of the charges against him. The shocking crime spree began with the alleged murder on Saturday, followed by the Subway robbery in Woodville on Monday afternoon.

Crime Spree Unfolds

In a gruesome incident that has left the community in shock, Sammy Patrick is accused of shooting, killing, and setting an elderly woman on fire in the 3000 block of Old Jackson Road. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is actively pursuing Patrick, identifying him as the prime suspect in this horrific capital murder case. The motive behind the heinous act remains unclear as authorities intensify efforts to bring Patrick to justice.

Amidst the ongoing investigation, Patrick is also linked to an armed robbery at a Subway in Wilkinson County. Woodville Police Chief Lemuel Rutledge reported that the robbery occurred on Monday around 2:50 p.m. at the Subway located off Highway 61. The suspect was later spotted refueling at a Shell gas station, heightening concerns about the potential danger he poses to the public.

As law enforcement agencies join forces to apprehend Patrick, the stolen vehicle he is driving, a dark-colored Ford Ranger with a disabled tag reading DBW5119, adds another layer to the unfolding mystery. The urgency to locate and apprehend Patrick is intensified by the fact that the vehicle was reported stolen on Old Highway 21. Authorities have issued a statewide alert, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information that could aid in the suspect’s capture.

With Patrick’s last known direction being north on Highway 61 towards Natchez, a multi-state manhunt is underway. The urgency of the situation is underscored by the violent nature of the crimes and the potential threat posed by Patrick.
