Currently coaching the Dallas Cowboys, Mike McCarthy won a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 2010 during his thirteen seasons as head coach. While McCarthy does not want to dwell on his time in Green Bay, he does not want to do so in the lead-up to their playoff match at AT&T Stadium, either.

Mike McCarthy Shuns Revisiting Green Bay Before Game, Prioritizes Focus on Victory

After giving it some thought, McCarthy has chosen not to bring up Green Bay again before a regular season game last year. He feels that bringing it up during the season was a mistake and that it saps the team’s enthusiasm and focus. McCarthy said that worrying about the other team isn’t going to help the team win the game, so everyone should just concentrate on the next play.

In the end, McCarthy conceded, it’s all about how well the guys play. Looking back on his past experiences, he realized that it’s pointless to spend time on conversations that don’t lead to victory. McCarthy underlined the significance of making the most of the allotted time for preparation to devise winning strategies.

After becoming the first coach in NFL history to win Super Bowls with two different teams in Green Bay and Dallas, the coach now hopes to repeat that feat with a third Dallas squad. McCarthy has stressed his dedication to helping the Dallas Cowboys win their next game against his old team, the Packers, and has acknowledged the importance of the chance with the Cowboys.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is hell-bent on avoiding talking about his time with the Packers in favor of their next game. He promises to do everything in his power to help the Dallas Cowboys win their next playoff game and stresses the significance of making the most of practice time.
