While Chicago often stands out on the top of the list of the most dangerous cities in Illinois, other cities in Illinois have even higher crime rates than Chicago.

According to a published article by the Southwest Journal, Danville is one of the most perilous cities in Illinois, with a crime rate 213% higher than the state average. It faces challenges including poor education, limited job opportunities, and low median income.

Peoria is another one of the most dangerous cities in Illinois, with a crime rate 141% higher than the state average. Springfield is also one of the most unsafe cities in Illinois, with a crime rate 122% higher than the national average.

Another one of the most notorious cities in Illinois is Champaign which has a crime rate of 3,409 per 100,000, with common crimes including burglary, theft, robbery, and assault.

Rockford is also known as one of the most notorious cities in Illinois for its high violent crime rates, with a rate of 92% above the national average.

East St. Louis, though ranking among the most dangerous cities in Illinois, has seen a slight decrease in crime rates in recent years.

State Of Emergency In Willington, Illinois

In a published article by ABC News, Wilmington, Illinois has declared a state of emergency due to flooding, resulting in a citywide boil water advisory. Residents are advised to boil any water used for drinking and cooking as a precautionary measure.
